On Thursday, February 15th, we celebrated TEDxEl Altillo International School Youth, a prestigious and inspiring event where 12 young students from ISP Schools in Spain shared their ideas and knowledge. The event took place in the Auditorium of the Cajasol Foundation.Launched in 2009, TEDx is a programme of locally organised events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have been posted on TED.com and have received millions of views worldwide. The event focuses on the power of ideas to change lives and ultimately the world. This philosophy is very much in line with ISP Schools' transformative vision of learning and within the framework of the enriching International Learning Opportunities that ISP offers to all its students. The 12 participants have gone through a demanding process of selection, preparation and rehearsal, including external professional training, as well as the assignment of a Support Coordinator at all times and several reviews of their talks in order to receive feedback from the organising committee and validate that they comply with the rigorous rules of TEDx.El Altillo International School has the honour of hosting the most prepared and representative voices of the ISP education community to discuss relevant and important global issues, in what promises to be a source of inspiration and knowledge and the impact of these young voices in an ever-changing world where the power of curiosity and self-confidence are essential keys to the next generation of leaders.Andrés B., a 1st Bachillerato student, represented El Altillo International School in this edition and surprised the audience with his talk, "Poetry: A Guide to Live." Through his immense creativity, knowledge, and remarkable personality, Andrés conveyed his vision of how poetry—and art in general—can serve as a true transformative force in both personal and professional spheres. On Tuesday, February 13th, we welcomed participants from ISP schools in Spain to our school. Accompanied by their teachers, they enjoyed two days of activities in our Fab Lab, took a touristic tour where they learned about the history and culture of our city, and practiced their talks with the help of a team of ISP experts. This comprehensive learning program concluded on Thursday, February 15th, with their participation in TEDxEl Altillo International School Youth, representing their schools. For this event, El Altillo International School has counted on the collaboration of some of its trusted suppliers whom it would like to expressly thank for their support to the school: Fundación Cajasol, CampusPDI, Mallory, Vistalegre Solutions and Fredes Insa Escuela de Danza y Comedia Musical, who will offer a performance starring a group of students from El Altillo International School.About TEDx, x = independently organised eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
