El Altillo International School was founded in Jerez, offering a pioneering educational model focused on academic excellence, innovation and values, setting the foundation for future growth.
The school inaugurated its music school and hosted the first-ever El Altillo School Duathlon, showcasing a growing commitment to diverse educational experiences and athletic development.
El Altillo introduced chess as a core subject, making it part of the official curriculum. This pioneering step aimed to enhance students’ logical thinking, concentration and problem-solving skills from an early age.
El Altillo adopted the Moodle platform and created altillovirtual.com, advancing its digital presence. Additionally, the school commenced a trilingual curriculum (English, French and Spanish), reinforcing its international outlook.
El Altillo became an official member of International Schools Partnership - ISP, joining a global network of schools committed to excellence and innovation.
El Altillo became a member of WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and launched the "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) initiative in secondary school. The creation of a student council further empowered student leadership, while the school also commenced its Eco School programme and launched learning visits in classrooms.
The school was authorised as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and awarded its first scholarship for the Fao Foundation. It also introduced coding as a subject, expanding students' skills in technology and problem-solving.
The school inaugurated its Fab Lab, joining the global network of digital fabrication laboratories. Equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters and other advanced tools, the Fab Lab fosters creativity and innovation among students and the wider community.
El Altillo was awarded the prestigious Green Flag for its commitment to eco-friendly practices. Additionally, health and wellbeing figures were established, highlighting the school’s focus on holistic student development.
El Altillo officially became part of the Makers Movement, embracing hands-on learning and creativity across all levels of education.
