Expanding athletic skills and teamwork through varied sporting experiences
Students from Year 3 take part in optional sports such as Padel, Team Sports and Chess. Rotating activities each term builds physical fitness, teamwork and adaptability in new sporting environments.

Every day at El Altillo International School is filled with exciting learning experiences and discoveries for your child. While timetables vary across the year groups, here’s an example of what happens in our Primary School.
From 7.30am
Students arrive and ease into the school day, greeted by their teachers and peers. This calm, structured start helps them feel settled and ready to learn.
9am - 11pm
Students enjoy exciting and interactive lessons, with a fun mid-morning break to relax and recharge.
11am - 11.30pm
Students have half an hour to enjoy their snack and relax while playing with their classmates.
11.30am - 1.30pm
1.30pm - 2.30pm
It's time for lunch! Children take a break to eat together, choosing from a variety of healthy and tasty meals.
2.30pm - 5pm
In the afternoon, students continue their learning, with plenty of play-based activities to explore and enjoy.
5pm - 6pm
Primary students explore passions through dynamic after-school activities - from football and padel to robotics - building skills, teamwork and joy beyond the classroom.

As part of this process, they visit Primary classrooms to observe learning in action and actively participate in activities from the next stage, allowing them to experience it firsthand.
Primary teachers also regularly visit Early Years classrooms, helping students get to know them and feel more confident about the transition.
At El Altillo International School, students experience full immersion in English, Spanish and French, allowing them to communicate fluently and understand the cultures behind the languages. By graduation, they achieve at least C1-C2 in English and B2 in French. As an official exam centre for Trinity, Cambridge and DELF, students have the opportunity to gain recognised certifications that validate their language proficiency.
In the 2024-25 academic year, students are participating in the ISP Chess Tournaments across three different competitions:
ISP Chess School League Match (by schools) – in both Junior (Primary) and Senior (Secondary and Sixth Form) categories.
ISP Regional Tournament (by continent teams) – with strong representation from our school.
ISP Individual Tournament – where students compete individually with the goal of reaching the final stage.
Through these events, students enhance their learning while developing spatial reasoning, strategic thinking, logical reasoning and mental flexibility for effective decision-making.
Primary students begin to discover their interests through active, real-world learning experiences. They take part in career fairs, expert talks, hands-on projects and creative programmes like Young Makers, which encourage problem-solving and teamwork. Subjects such as PSHE, chess and public speaking help students develop critical thinking, communication and life skills-supporting their growth and preparing them to move forward with purpose and confidence.
Chess
Chess is a core part of the weekly curriculum for Primary students, where it supports the development of cognitive skills and emotional management. Pupils learn respect, responsibility, courtesy and perseverance while sharpening strategic thinking and concentration. Chess also promotes self-confidence and resilience through friendly competitions and class challenges. This stage encourages students to become thoughtful Communicators and collaborative problem solvers, reinforcing our values of leadership and open-mindedness.
Eco School
As an Eco school, students are encouraged to embrace sustainability and respect for the environment, learning about responsible resource use and eco-conscious topics integrated into the curriculum.
