IV School Maker Faire - A day of innovation, creativity and community learning

10-05-2025

El Altillo’s IV School Maker Faire dazzled with 100+ student projects - robotics, 3D printing & recycled art - blending creativity & tech. A celebration of learning, mistakes & growth!

Last Saturday, 10 May, El Altillo International School proudly held the fourth edition of its School Maker Faire - an official event accredited by the American magazine Make: -once again transforming our school into the epicentre of imagination, technology and hands-on learning in the province of Cádiz.

Over one hundred students presented their Maker projects, designed and developed in our FabLab, proving once again that when the mind connects with the hands and heart, learning truly comes to life. From 3D printing and robotic prototypes to artistic creations using recycled materials, the fair showcased the full potential of our students as innovators, critical thinkers and solution creators.

This year, the event once again opened its doors to the public, welcoming school families, visitors from across the province and external collaborators. The school community enjoyed not only the project stands but also interactive workshops, experimentation zones, live demonstrations and a wide selection of food from the on-site food trucks.

As tradition holds, the School Maker Faire is not just about showcasing results, but celebrating the process - the sketches, the mistakes, the learning and the improvements that are all part of every creation's journey. It is a transformative experience both for those who take part and for those who discover it as spectators.

We would like to thank all the participating students, as well as the teachers, collaborators, guest makers and volunteers who made this event possible. Their commitment reflects the spirit of the Maker movement, which at El Altillo International School is seen as a key pillar of our educational approach.
