El Altillo International School Promotes Critical Thinking and Creativity Through TEDxThe British School of Málaga Youth

TEDxThe British School of Málaga Youth has become a platform where young generations develop their voice, challenge the present and actively contribute to imagining a future.

El Altillo International School continues to strengthen its commitment to educational innovation, critical thinking and the development of students’ communication skills through participation in international initiatives such as TEDxThe British School of Málaga Youth, held on 26 March under the theme The Shape of Possibility and organised with the support of ISP Schools.

The event brought together 15 students aged between 12 and 17 who shared inspiring ideas about the future, education and the role of creativity in building new opportunities. Through their talks, students reflected on the importance of curiosity, decision-making, learning from mistakes and the ability to imagine alternative paths in a constantly changing world.

Competency-Based Education and Holistic Development

At El Altillo International School, experiences such as TEDx align closely with the school’s educational philosophy, which focuses on students’ holistic development and the acquisition of key competencies such as effective communication, critical thinking, international mindedness and the ability to create a positive impact on society.

Participating in initiatives like TEDx allows students to put the school’s student learning outcomes into practice, strengthening skills such as confidence in expressing their own ideas, collaboration with peers and the ability to inspire others through knowledge and reflection.

“Being part of the TEDx event was a truly valuable experience for me. Throughout the process, I had the opportunity to meet new people from different places, which made the experience even more enriching. It also helped me gain confidence when communicating in English and demonstrate my abilities. Without a doubt, it has contributed greatly to both my personal and academic growth.”
