Students master AI through InMoov Humanoid Robot Project

22-09-2023

Secondary students built a functional robotic arm using Arduino and AI libraries, learning practical applications through hands-on experience.

"A group of students have embarked on an amazing project while learning about the practical application of AI. For the past two years, they have been working diligently on the InMoov humanoid robot project, and the results are truly remarkable!

The primary objective of this project was to provide our students with hands-on experience in AI and robotics, enabling them to be self-learners and apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life scenarios. Through their dedication and perseverance, they successfully built a fully functional right arm of the InMoov robot which is controlled using Arduino.

The students then integrated the Google MediaPipe AI libraries and tools to develop software that allows the robotic arm to mimic the movements of a human hand. The computer communicates with the Arduino using a serial communication which controls the servo motors in the robotic arm. It’s truly a marvel to witness the arm in action!

The impact this project has had on our students’ learning journey is immeasurable. They were faced with challenges that mirrored those encountered in practical AI applications, pushing them to think critically and devise innovative solutions. By combining AI and robotics, they’ve developed skills that will undoubtedly prove invaluable in their future careers.

I couldn’t be prouder of our students and the level of excellence they’ve achieved throughout this project. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication have been truly inspiring. Special thanks to our mentors and supporters who guided them every step of the way.

As we celebrate this milestone, let’s applaud our students for their incredible accomplishments and encourage them to continue exploring the fascinating intersection of AI and robotics. Together, we are shaping the future of technology and empowering the next generation of makers!
